Dennison's Gummed Labels No. 209 - 1940s to 1950s
Dennison’s Gummed Labels No. 209 from the 1940s to 1950s. Dennison’s Gummed Labels No. 209, often recognized for their red border, are a vintage collectible that has intrigued many enthusiasts. These labels were used for various purposes, such as organizing, labeling, and crafting. They came in different quantities and sizes, often stored in neat boxes or book-style packaging. These labels were often used by artifact collector’s to put information on their relics. In our part of the Midwest because collector’s were using them on their artifacts, artifakers used them extensively putting labels on modern made artifacts to try and make the modern pieces appear older with provenance. A cheap trick that is likely still used today. We see a lot of these on bannerstones, pipes, larger flint pieces etc. We have seen them so much on older modern made pieces that they serve as a STOP sign when we are looking at artifacts. Box appears mostly full. We didn’t do a count to verify there are 60.
