Lot 320:
Pre-Columbian Mayan Serpent Head Bowl
Pre-Columbian Mayan Serpent Head Bowl. Solid pot with no restoration. At one time this pot had 3 legs under it. There are patterned trails that go around the sides meeting at the heads. Perhaps to symbolize a snake trail in the sand. The heads have holes which would have had cordage going through them for carrying. There is a change in coloration of the surface on both sides above the heads. That may be related to use wear. This pot measures 4 1/2" Diameter by 2 1/2" tall approximately. From the late Chuck Asher Collection.
