Internally decorative victorian inpages and decorated page ends. This set is in Very Good condition for their age. Covers have a little shelf wear on the corners. Internally pages have age toning with minor foxing. Bindings are tight with no noticed missing pages or tares. A nice set of antiquarian books. A historical account that covers the period from 1584 to 1609. This book is a sequel to Motley’s earlier work, "The Rise of the Dutch Republic, " and it delves into the events following the assassination of William the Silent, a pivotal figure in the Dutch struggle for independence from Spanish rule.
