Hell’s Outpost : the true story of Devil’s island by a man who exiled himself there by W. E. Allison-Booth. Published by Minton, Balch & Company, New York, 1931. It was published in 1931 and provides a first-hand account of the horrors of the French penal colony on Devil’s Island in French Guiana. Allison-Booth, an American newspaper correspondent, visited the colony multiple times and spent several months there, documenting the experiences of the prisoners. Very good condition hardback. Fading to cover w/ minor shelf wear. Very rare book.
