Lot 100:
5 3/4" Hopewell Water Pottery Jar found in Mercer County, Ohio
5 3/4" Hopewell Water Pottery Jar found in Mercer County, Ohio. Very nice solid pot. Had a ribbon inside it that states "Mercer County Indian Relic Collectors – Mercer County Historical Museum – June 24, 1984. From the late Phil Potter Collection. Phil didn’t keep records on his artifacts which makes it problematic in pinpointing counties and states unless it is written on them. The ribbon in the pot was all we had to go off of. AI says this about the show "On June 24, 1984, the Mercer County Historical Museum in Celina, Ohio hosted the Mercer County Indian Relic Collectors exhibit and gathering. This event highlighted Native American artifacts collected locally, showcasing the deep prehistoric and historic heritage of Mercer County." Pot measures 5 3/4" by 4 1/2"
