Toyokuni III (Utagawa Kunisada) was one of the most prolific and commercially successful ukiyo-e woodblock print artists of 19th-century Japan, celebrated for his depictions of kabuki actors, beautiful women, and literary scenes. . AI was unable to find another of this woodblock print on the web so it is a rare one. From the Chuck and Eileen Hoffman Collection who spent time in Japan as overseas school teachers. Measures 14 1/2" by 9 7/8" approximately.
