Keinen Imao Woodblock Print – Meiji Period 1885. Imao Keinen (1845–1924) was a Japanese painter and woodblock print artist best known for his exquisite bird and flower (kacho-e) prints, which remain highly regarded in Japanese art history. This woodblock print is in very good condition for its age as shown in photos. It measures 14 3/9" by 9 3/8" approximately. Has paper glued to a couple corners on the back side where it was at one time glued to paperboard. From the Chuck and Eileen Hoffman Collection who spent time in Japan as overseas school teachers.
