Buyer's premium:

A hand formed Pre-Columbian Maya tripod pottery vessel, dating to approximately 500 to 1500 CE. The pot measures 5 5/8 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches in diameter, with a rounded body, slightly flared rim, and three short supporting legs typical of Maya domestic tripod forms. Fired in a positive oxygen environment, producing the warm oxidized surface often cataloged as "Positive Oxygen Plumbate." The vessel shows natural mineral deposits, surface toning from long burial, and light use wear around the rim, consistent with ancient household use. These short leg tripod vessels were practical everyday forms used for heating, food preparation, and storage within Maya domestic settings.

Condition Report:

Solid and stable with no stress fractures. Light rim use wear as shown. No modern restoration. Surface shows natural mineral deposits and age-appropriate wear.
