1974 The Great Book of Jewels – Heiniger & Heiniger – Folio Hardcover
The Great Book of Jewels by Heiniger and Heiniger (Edita Lausanne, 1974). Large folio hardcover. A beautifully produced oversized volume showcasing jewelry design, craftsmanship, and historical pieces through exceptional photography and commentary. Edita Lausanne is known for its high quality art publications, and this book reflects that standard with rich visuals and impressive production values.
Condition: Good, with noted binding flaws.
The book remains clean and visually striking, but it does have two structural issues typical of large format art books of this era:
Approximately 3 inch separation along the top portion of the front hinge where the spine covering meets the front board. The cover remains attached but should be handled with care.
Pages 87 through 91 are detached from the binding. All pages are present, clean, and undamaged, but this section is no longer sewn or glued into the text block.
Aside from these faults, the interior pages are bright, crisp, and unmarked. The cover shows only light shelf wear, and the book retains its impressive visual presence.
A substantial and beautifully produced reference volume, desirable for collectors of jewelry history, design, and fine art publications.
