The mosaic incorporates a diverse assortment of prehistoric lithic materials including projectile point fragments, biface fragments, worked flakes, and debitage exhibiting a range of natural stone types, colors, and textures. Visible materials include light-colored cherts, translucent lithics, darker tool stone fragments, and numerous worked prehistoric pieces carefully arranged to define the thunderbird form.
