Buyer's premium:

A finely shaped perforated pendant fashioned from greenstone and exhibiting a distinctive broad-bodied form with a constricted waist and expanded terminal. The artifact measures approximately 2? inches in length and displays careful shaping throughout, with a rounded upper end, symmetrical outline, and a neatly executed suspension hole positioned near the top. The lower portion expands into a bulbous terminal before tapering through the neck, creating a balanced and visually appealing silhouette.

The piece is manufactured from a dense greenstone exhibiting soft green to gray-green coloration with scattered darker mineral inclusions and isolated areas of iron staining. The material has been extensively ground and smoothed, producing a subdued polish across both faces. The stone’s fine texture and ability to take a smooth finish made it well suited for ornamental manufacture, and the surface retains an attractive aged appearance throughout.

The suspension perforation is carefully placed and appears to have been drilled from opposing faces, creating a well-centered bore with slight tapering around the opening. The surrounding surface exhibits consistent wear and patination, and the perforation remains one of the strongest indicators of deliberate manufacture. The narrow waist and expanded terminal appear intentionally shaped rather than naturally occurring, reflecting considerable workmanship during production.

Condition is very good overall, with minor surface abrasions, scattered contact marks, and small areas of natural weathering consistent with age. The pendant remains intact and retains its original form without evidence of modern repair or restoration.

The material, workmanship, drilling characteristics, and overall morphology are consistent with an authentic prehistoric perforated stone pendant. The carefully shaped outline and suspension hole suggest the object was intended for personal adornment, ceremonial use, or display, and it represents a distinctive example of Eastern Woodlands ground-stone workmanship.

No repairs or restoration are evident.
