4 7/16" Kirk Stemmed Serrated – Piney River, VA – Ex Partain & Perino

A large Early Archaic Kirk Stemmed Serrated point displaying classic alternating denticulation produced by controlled pressure flaking along both blade edges. The serrations are deliberate, evenly spaced, and follow the blade contour with the rhythmic pattern expected of authentic Early Archaic workmanship. The stem and shoulder geometry are correct for the type, with a straight stem, rounded shoulders, and a balanced overall silhouette.

Made from Coastal Plains chert, showing proper regional patination for Virginia material, including the matte mineralized surface and embedded inclusions typical of Piney River finds. The flake patterning, beveling, and edge execution are consistent with correct ancient manufacture.

Measures approximately 4 7/16" in length, placing it among the larger examples of the type. A strong, well-made Kirk exhibiting both size and workmanship quality.

Provenance: Ex Ken Partain Collection; Ex Greg Perino Collection. Includes Perino COA identifying the piece as a Kirk Stemmed Serrated of Coastal Plains chert from Piney River, Virginia.

Condition: Ancient Authentic
