Dane Quiett Signed Woodcut Print — Rural Americana Scene — 1950s — Framed 15" × 12"
A finely executed 1950s woodcut print by American artist Dane Quiett signed in pencil along the lower margin. The composition presents a peaceful rural Americana scene featuring a horse drawn wagon moving along a wooded path a farmhouse or barn structure to the right and a group of ducks gathered near a pond in the foreground. Quietts bold carving lines strong contrasts and narrative detail are characteristic of her mid century printmaking style.
The work is attractively framed and ready for display with overall frame dimensions of approximately 15 inches by 12 inches.
About the artist. Dane Quiett 1920 to 2007 was an American painter and printmaker active throughout the mid 20th century. She is best known for her expressive woodcuts and linocuts which often depict rural landscapes domestic life and natural forms with a blend of regionalist storytelling and modernist graphic clarity. Her work was exhibited in regional galleries and printmaking circles during the 1950s to 1970s and she remains appreciated for her craftsmanship and her ability to capture the quiet rhythms of American life.
