1860's Hand Colored Photograph of William Fufue May Jr in a Walnut Frame
Victorian Era Portrait Painting of William Fufue May Jr in a Walnut Frame – Circa 1860’s. Hand painted on a thick paper which was how many were done from 1855 to the early 1870’s. Removed the portrait to inspect and verify the type of portrait this is and that it was from the period. The colored photo measures 11 7/8" by 9 1/2" and the walnut frame is 17 1/4" by 15 1/4". Overall very nice condition for its age. Frame has some surface blemishes as can be seen in photos. There was no card attached with this colored photo or anything written to verify that this is William. That is an assumption on our part as it was with the picture in the previous lot framed in the same fashion.
