Original Circa 1839 Utagawa Sadatora Japanese Woodblock Print – Edo Period. At Oshima, the Sinking of a Warship from the Capital "Oshima ni miyakogata no gunsen wo yaburu zu". This print depicts the legendary archer Hachimantaro Tametomo sinking a warship sent by the central government with a single arrow while he was exiled to Oshima Island. A very rare print. We could only find one other located in the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Woodblock print measures 14 5/8" by 10 1/8". Colors are still quite good for its age. Bottom left corner is missing a small piece as shown in photos. Tiny tack holes on the left side of the page. Has an authentication stamp on the support board by Y. Tsuruki.
