Mid 1800's Hoytema Company Black Semi-Iridescent Pirates Bottle
Mid 1800’s Hoytema Company Black Semi-Iridescent Pirates Bottle. V. Hoytema & C. case gin bottle from the mid-1800s. These bottles were typically produced between 1850 and 1870. They are known for their distinctive "black glass", which is actually a very dark green. This color was used due to the high tax rates on clear glass at the time. Excellent condition. Lighting reveals no cracks or chips on this old bottle. All original with no restoration. Measures 8" approximately
