1800's Lithograph by Daumier - French Political Satire - "The Good Burgess"
Honore Daumier, the renowned French caricaturist, painter, and sculptor, was prominently associated with the French newspaper "Le Charivari". This lithograph was created in 1847 by Daumier. His satirical works and political cartoons were a significant feature of this publication during the 19th century. Daumier’s illustrations often critiqued the political and social issues of his time, making him a notable figure in the world of journalism and art. Nicely protected on a clear plastic covered slip case/board. Excellent condition for its age. 12" by 9 1/2" approximately in a 18 1/2" by 15 1/2" frame. Roughly translated this one is called "The Good Burgess".
