Ornithomorphic Ohio Pipestone Boatstone Gorget Made by Donnie Lemmons – 1970’s Vintage Folk Art. Donnie made pipes, stone statues and a variety of other tools resembling Native American Artifacts in the second half of the 20th Century. A close friend with another well-known stone artisan Billy Gurthrie who lived in the same area the two makers work often looked similar in many ways because of the influence they had on each other. Donnie’s work although not signed had distinctive features known by his son. This piece was validated by Donnie’s son.
