Large Stone Face or Mask – Modern Made of Stone. circa 1970’s. Made by Billy Guthrie, Donnie Lemons or one of the other makers in Pike County, Illinois. Mid Century there were collector’s in the Midwest chasing stone masks like this one thinking they were Native American. Masks like this were traditionally a burial type item in Hopewell culture.
