Original Utagawa Kunisada Woodblock Print - Edo Period (circa 1861)
This woodblock print depicts actor Iwai Kumesaburo III as Fusano, later Ofusa. Toyokuni III (Utagawa Kunisada) was one of the most prolific and commercially successful ukiyo-e woodblock print artists of 19th-century Japan, celebrated for his depictions of kabuki actors, beautiful women, and literary scenes. From the Chuck and Eileen Hoffman Collection who spent time in Japan as overseas school teachers. Measures 14 3/16" by 9 3/4" approximately. Has what appears to be a silver fish hole thru it as shown on the photos.
