Vintage Haitian Vodou Ritual Charm Figure, Hand-Made Folk Spiritual Doll, 10" Tall
A vintage hand crafted Vodou charm figure likely originating from Haiti or the broader Afro Caribbean spiritual tradition. Constructed around a central wooden stick core the figure is wrapped in patterned cloth and decorated with symbolic materials including a cowrie shell beads natural fibers and brightly colored feathers. The head is formed from bundled plant material giving the figure the rustic organic appearance typical of Vodou ritual objects.
These figures are traditionally created as protective charms offerings or spiritual tools within Vodou practice and similar examples are found in Haitian markets and New Orleans ritual shops. The materials and construction suggest mid to late 20th century origin.
A striking example of Afro Caribbean folk spirituality and handmade ritual craftsmanship.
