4 Inch Pre-Columbian Anthropomorphic Pottery Effigy Vessel Fragment
Pre-Columbian anthropomorphic pottery effigy vessel fragment measuring approximately 4 inches in width, depicting a stylized human face with prominent modeled nose, recessed eyes, large earspool-form ornaments, and an elaborate segmented coiffure or headdress. Hand-built hollow pottery construction with substantial wall thickness and surviving interior cavity exposed through ancient losses. The exterior retains strong molded detail with well-defined facial features and decorative elements, while the interior displays consistent pottery fabric and firing characteristics. Surface exhibits excellent ancient patination, mineral accretions, earthen deposits, and age-related weathering throughout. Condition shows ancient breakage and losses from the original parent vessel while preserving the principal decorative components and overall visual impact.
