Buyer's premium:

Large Pre-Columbian Mayan blade displaying an elongated lanceolate form with tapered ends. Measures 5 5/8 inches in length. Manufactured from translucent tan to honey-colored chert and worked through broad percussion flaking and secondary thinning removals that establish a symmetrical blade profile. Distinct conchoidal fracture surfaces and overlapping flake scars are visible across the artifact, demonstrating intentional reduction and shaping. The material exhibits fine-grained siliceous composition, subtle internal banding, natural color variation, and areas of translucency. Edges show minor ancient nicking and light wear, while the overall surface displays consistent patination and age-related weathering. The combination of workmanship, material characteristics, flake scar organization, and surface development supports authenticity as a Pre-Columbian Mayan chipped stone blade. No evident repairs or restoration observed.
