Lot 262:
1 3/4" Han Dynasty Nephrite Jade Ornament 206 BC-220 AD
1 3/4" Han Dynasty Nephrite Jade Ornament
Pale green-white nephrite jade ornament carved in a symmetrical winged form and measuring approximately 1 3/4 in. in length. The ornament is pierced with two centrally aligned suspension holes and decorated with incised geometric motifs radiating from the upper perforation. The stone exhibits notable translucency, producing a soft glow when illuminated, and displays a fine compact structure consistent with nephrite jade. Surfaces show age-related wear, softening of carved details, and ancient patination developed through long-term burial and handling. The form, material, and workmanship are consistent with Han Dynasty jade ornaments, circa 206 BC-220 AD. Condition is good overall with expected ancient wear, minor surface irregularities, and preservation of the original carved details. An attractive example of a Han Dynasty nephrite jade personal ornament.
Condition: Ancient Authentic
